Nestled on Tamborine Mountain in Queensland, Cauldron Distillery has built a reputation for crafting spirits that reflect both creativity and place. While many know us for our gins and immersive distillery experiences, our Queensland Single Malt Whisky represents a quieter, more patient chapter of our story — one defined by time, intention and craftsmanship.
A Whisky Shaped by Where We Are
Our Queensland Single Malt Whisky is deeply influenced by its environment. Distilled and matured at 525 metres above sea level, it benefits from cooler mountain temperatures and natural seasonal variation, allowing the spirit to mature slowly and develop complexity over time.
Rather than trying to replicate traditional overseas styles, we’ve embraced our Australian conditions. The whisky is first matured in ex-bourbon barrels, before being finished in Australian Apera casks. This combination brings together classic structure with a distinctly local influence, creating depth, balance and character in every bottle.

We’re incredibly proud to share that our Queensland Single Malt Whisky has been recognised on the global stage. At the 2025 IWSC (International Wine & Spirits Competition) in London — often described as the Oscars of the spirits world — it was awarded Silver, scoring an impressive 94/100, just one point shy of Gold.
This recognition reinforces our belief that exceptional whisky can come from unexpected places, including the mountains of South East Queensland.
