Navigator Gin Has Arrived - and Our Locals Get the First Pour
After more than four years in the making, Cauldron Distillery’s newest gin is officially ready to pour.
Meet Navigator Gin-Australia’s first gin built specifically for soda.
Before we introduce Navigator across Australia in early 2027, we wanted the people who have supported Cauldron from the beginning - our loyal customers, Tamborine Mountain locals and wider Scenic Rim community to be the first to experience it.
This early local release is our way of saying thank you and inviting our community to be part of the next chapter in the Cauldron story.
Our First New Gin in More Than Four Years
It has been more than four years since Cauldron released a new gin, so we knew our next creation needed to offer something genuinely different.
We wanted to make a gin for the way many people now choose to drink: something crisp, refreshing, less sweet and effortless to serve. Rather than creating another gin designed to rely on the sweetness and strong flavour of tonic, we started with a very clear purpose.
We set out to create a gin specifically for soda.
The result is Navigator - a bold, juniper-forward London dry gin with enough depth and botanical character to stand confidently with nothing more than ice, chilled soda water and a slice of fresh orange.
Built for Soda
Navigator isn’t simply a gin that can be mixed with soda. Every element has been carefully considered to make the gin itself the hero of the drink.
Its bold juniper foundation is balanced with bright citrus, gentle native spice and natural sweetness. When topped with soda, those flavours remain clear and distinctive, creating a clean and refreshing serve without being overwhelmed by the mixer.
It is simple, balanced and made for those moments when you want a great drink without overcomplicating it.
Pour Navigator over ice, add chilled soda water and garnish with a fresh orange slice. That’s it.
Crisp. Juniper-forward. Distinctly Australian. Built for soda.
Grown, Harvested and Distilled on Tamborine Mountain
Navigator’s story begins right here at Cauldron Distillery, with Australian botanicals grown and hand-harvested from our estate on Tamborine Mountain.
Estate-grown lemon myrtle, aniseed myrtle and pepperberry bring layers of bright citrus, aromatic freshness and gentle spice to the gin. They are complemented by fresh orange and honey, creating a vibrant but beautifully balanced botanical profile.
Growing and harvesting ingredients onsite gives Navigator a genuine connection to the place where it was created. From the garden to the distillery and finally into the bottle, it is a spirit shaped by Tamborine Mountain.
From Garden to Glass
The botanicals used in Navigator form part of our estate botanical garden project, established in September 2025 with support from The University of Queensland.
Created as part of a research project funded through a Food and Beverage Accelerator Kickstarter grant, the garden allows us to explore how Australian native plants can influence the flavour and aroma of gin.
The collection includes lemon myrtle, strawberry gum, Tasmanian pepper, aniseed myrtle, saltbush, Davidson plum and finger lime. The project also looks at how growing conditions and preservation methods can shape the character of these remarkable ingredients.
These plants will continue to inspire future Cauldron spirits and feature in our gin-making experiences, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about the botanicals growing here on the estate.
For us, it is an exciting journey from planting seedlings to pouring the finished spirit into your glass-and Navigator is an important first taste of what this project can produce.
Guided by the Southern Cross
The Navigator name is inspired by the Southern Cross, which has guided people through Australian skies for generations.
That sense of guidance and discovery reflects the journey behind this gin: from planting native botanicals and exploring new flavours to taking Cauldron in a fresh direction with a spirit created specifically for soda.
It is proudly Australian, deeply connected to Tamborine Mountain and made for wherever the evening takes you.
